Stretch Magic, and other cords like it, are very reliable. Using a surgeon's knot (with an extra half knot) is the most secure way to keep them tied. Many people add a drop of super glue or E6000 to ensure the knot stays securely tied. The second type of cord is called stretch floss.

Surgeons knot This is a strong knot which adds a secure finish to your jewellery design. It is similar to the square knot however it has extra twists within it which makes it durable and doesn't slip. It is ideal to use for elastic or slippery stringing materials to end your bracelet or necklace.

It is recommended to tie elastic cord using a square or surgeon's knot. Once knotted, you'll want to apply an adhesive to the knot. Choose an instant adhesive such as Vigor Super Glue or a flexible adhesive like E6000® Jewelry and Craft Adhesive.
