In terms of durability, the lifespan of a macerator pump depends on how much it's used. More recent macerator pumps can last up to 15 years when used sparingly, while those used regularly may need replacing after 10 years. A macerator used daily – in your home, for example – should last for around 10 years.

It's true, handling and dumping waste from your RV can be a smelly, messy job, especially when using the standing 3″ sewer hose or “stinky slinky.” A macerator can alleviate some of those concerns. Because of the smaller diameter hose, there is less smell permeating the air around your RV as waste is disposed of.

The macerator pump uses a stainless steel fast-rotating cutting blade to convert solids and fluids into a fine slurry that is discharged under pressure through small-diameter piping (¾-inch or 1-inch) and expelled into the sewage line or septic tank.

The pump takes in raw waste, and grinds it to a consistency that can be safely discharged via 25mm (1") bore pipework. IMPORTANT NOTE: JABSCO macerator pumps are designed to handle normal toilet waste and easily-disintegrated toilet tissues.
