A Moveable 100 Number Chart You can make your own DIY version by cutting a simple number chart into tiles. First, make a number chart that shows 10 numbers in each row (1-10, 11-20, 21-30, etc.) Then, cut them all apart. Then provide a blank chart that students must fill in using the tiles.

A numbers chart is defined as a table that lists the numbers in numerical order. This order will be like 1-10 in the first line, 11-20 in the second line, 21-30 in the third line and so on. There can be different kinds of specific numbers charts, such as hundred's charts that contain the numerals from 1–100.

A traditional Hundred Board is a 10x10 grid divided into 100 squares, with each square containing the numbers 1-100 listed sequentially. The Hundred Board/Chart can be used to help students understand number order, look for patterns, think strategically, do choral counting, and learn many other concepts.

While the number line helps with the concept of sequencing, and base-10 blocks reinforce place value, the hundred chart combines these skills on a grander scale. Students see number lines, organized in groups of 10. They also observe patterns of tens and ones both horizontally and vertically.
