The Soldier Plate Carrier System (SPCS), known commercially as the KDH Magnum TAC-1, is a plate carrier developed for the U.S. Army which provides protection in accordance with if not greater than, the Improved Outer Tactical Vest.

Plate carriers are a type of tactical vest with a protective insert that allows for the insertion of ballistic plates. They serve the same purpose as a traditional bulletproof vest, however, plate carriers are generally much lighter than a ballistic vest. This is due to the option for customisable body coverage.

It's also important to note that a plate carrier setup can be different for everyone based on a variety of factors. Comfort, sizing, mobility, threat level, and mission or duty-specific equipment all play a role. Navy SEALs and police officers may have some overlap in duty gear, but there are a lot of differences, too.

Never use bleach, harsh chemicals or household cleaning products on your plate carrier. These substances could damage the fibers and render your plate carrier vest unusable. Never use a washing machine or dryer to clean your plate carrier, and avoid using fabric softener.
